Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1

Llucmajor Loop-Your guides will pick you up at the airport and then briefly stop in Palma, the Spanish island’s capital. After glimpsing the main sights you’ll head to our luxury hotel, a lovingly restored 15th-century Mallorcan mansion. This modern yet culturally rich boutique hotel is your introduction to the island’s mix of cultures and is perfectly placed overlooking the lush expanses of the island's countryside in Llucmajor. Before your first ride along the small country roads of the inner island, try one of the local wines while you toast to a new adventure. You will be professionally fitted to your top quality bicycle for the week and then ride off to enjoy Mediterranean landscapes under deep blue skies and colorful scenery. After an easy spin out to the town of Llucmajor you will have time to enjoy the SPA or the gorgeous swimming pool. In the evening we will review our exciting itinerary for the coming days, and then sit down together to a lovely gourmet welcome dinner at the hotel. Meals: Dinner. Destinations visited: Llucmajor. Distance cycled: 24km/15 miles.

Day 2

Monastery of Bonany-Today we’ll cycle along quiet country roads, through small rustic villages, and past endless almond orchards. Our destination is the Bonany Monastery, one of Mallorca’s best-kept secrets. You’ll have rolling terrain along the way, ending with one final climb that takes us up to the sanctuary. From above, you’ll enjoy a gourmet picnic with amazing views of Mallorca’s lush interior, a fertile mix of vast plains and soaring peaks. After lunch and a ‘siesta’ in the hilltop serenity you will descend into the town of Petra, the home town of Junipero de Selve, founder of San Francisco and Los Angeles. Here you’ll find a quaint museum dedicated to this well travelled devout monk. Then you have the option of cycling some more or hopping our van transfer to the hotel. This evening you will be treated to a private Paella demonstration before getting the opportunity to try this famous Spanish specialty. Meals: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner. Destinations cycled: Pina, Lloret, Sineu, Bonany Monastery. Distance cycled: 46 km/28.5 miles.

Day 3

Along the Playa to Palma-Today is smooth sailing on the coastal bike route all the way into Palma. You will enjoy the ambiance of this ride through all the hip and trendy beachside neighborhoods that host many of the most popular night clubs of Mallorca. Once you have reached the Cathedral you will leave your bikes behind to discover the beautifully kept streets of downtown Palma. You can choose from any of the fun tapas bars or tavernas in town for lunch before doing a little shopping or exploring the historical monuments. Once you have had your fill of the hustle and bustle of this city you will be shuttled to your next hotel. Tonight you will be treated to a private dinner at a local winery. Learn about the Mallorcan grape varieties and their production methods before sitting down to typical Mallorcan roast. Meals: Breakfast/Dinner. Destinations cycled: Palma. Distance cycled: 35 km/22 miles.

Day 4

Cap de Formentor-After a breakfast of fresh fruits and pastries, you start the morning with a warm up cycle to Alaro. From this charming town you will pass through several quiet, rural villages before arriving in the cultural hotspot of Pollensa Port. This small town is dedicated to music and art and was frequented by Winston Churchill, Agatha Christie, and Peter Ustinov. But our day of magnificent vistas is just beginning if you choose to continue riding along Cap de Formentor. Here, dramatic and rocky cliffs drop off from both sides of the road and offer sweeping views of the sea. If lying on the beach sounds more tempting to you than we will shuttle you directly there while you wait for the rest of the group to arrive. We’ll enjoy a lovely lunch overlooking the Mediterranean and then take an hour to relax on the tranquil beach at the foot of the restaurant. After the day’s adventure, we’ll drive you back to the hotel to relax and freshen up. Dinner tonight is at the Reads Restaurant for traditional specialties. Meals: Breakfast/Lunch /Dinner. Destinations cycled: Alaro, Lloseta, Selva, Puerto de Pollensa, Cap de Formentor. Distance cycled: 41 km/26 miles.

Day 5

Champion Ride through the Tramuntana-If you desire, today is the day to test your leg strength! Over the course of our 50 kilometers, we’ll ascend a total of 1000 meters. Cycling through the Tramuntana mountain range and along the magnificent coast, you will enjoy breathtaking vistas along the western edge of the island. Our downhill stretches will make each climb worthwhile as you enjoy the Mediterranean breeze on your face and coast into picturesque Mallorcan villages. In Valdemossa, visit the historic monastery and wander the steep, narrow streets. From this busy little town you will enjoy a long decent all the way to our last super luxury hotel, the magnificent La Residencia. Lunch is of your choice. In Deia, an inviting village nestled in a cozy valley, you’ll have time to visit the small sandy beach and sunbathe. OR Enjoy the spa at your leisure, a relaxing walk, or hours of Mediterranean wave therapy in the waters below the town’s streets. Meals: Breakfas/Dinner. Destinations cycled: Tramuntana Mountains, Valldemossa. Distance cycled: 50 km/31 miles.

Day 6

Palma-It is time to say “adios” after an exciting journey through a breathtaking part of the world that’s rich in culture and hospitality.
