Enjoy paddling the majestic Maine coastline with an added night spent under the stars on one of Maine’s beautiful secluded coastal islands.
The Two-Day Maine Island Overnight kayaking trip offers the opportunity to enjoy paddling the majestic Maine coastline with an added night spent under the stars on one of Maine's beautiful secluded coastal islands. Basic paddling skills, boating technique, and safety will be taught in the morning of day one. We will enjoy a day of kayaking the open sea to a remote island destination. A full gourmet meal is prepared ocean-side and enjoyed while watching the gorgeous sunset. All camping equipment (except personal sleeping gear) is provided and your guides' cater to your every need. Awake to freshly prepared wild Maine blueberry pancakes and French pressed coffee at sunrise in preparation for another day of paddling. A full lobster lunch is enjoyed on day two before paddling along the Maine Island Trail for the afternoon.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1
8:30 am - Meet at Maine Kayak's New Harbor Base
Morning to Noon - Pre-trip briefing and go paddling
-Pre trip briefing
-Introduction to sea kayak equipment and gear
-Safety issues, concerns, techniques
-Stroke technique and paddling form
-Go paddling along the Muscongus Bay shoreline and look for wildlife - seals, ospreys, terns, and seals
Noon - Enjoy a seaside picnic lunch
Early Afternoon to Mid-Afternoon - Review morning and go paddling
-Learn paddling strokes and proper boat form
-Leisurely paddle to island on Maine Island Trail
-Set up Camp
Early Evening - Sunset paddle and snooze
-Sunset paddle along Maine Island Trail
-Enjoy a gourmet dinner in the outdoors
-Discussion of leave no trace ethics
-Debrief of morning
-Fall asleep under the stars to the sounds of the ocean
Day 2
8:00 am - Blueberry pancake breakfast and French pressed coffee at sunrise
