Come enjoy a day of sun and fun sea kayaking along Maine’s rocky, scenic coast—a rich history and tradition that is best experienced from the water in a sea kayak. Watch lobsterman setting traps, paddle among old shipwrecks, or enjoy a stop at one of Maine’s many charming, uninhabited islands—truly jewels of the sea.
Full-Day tours begin with basic kayak maneuvers and safety instruction. This trip is designed to offer the proper paddling skills needed to enjoy a day on the water. We will paddle in the morning and take a break for a real Maine lobster lunch. The remainder of the afternoon will be spent discovering secluded coves and sheltered bays, paddling around wild rock islands, and exploring wildlife-abundant estuaries.

Day by Day Itinerary
9:00 am - Meet at Maine Kayak's New Harbor Base
Morning to Noon - Pre-trip briefing and go paddling
-Pre trip briefing
-Introduction to sea kayak equipment and gear
-Safety issues, concerns, techniques
-Stroke technique and paddling form
-Go paddling along the Muscongus Bay/Johns Bay shoreline and look for wildlife - seals, ospreys, terns, and seals
Noon - Enjoy a real Maine lobster lunch
Early Afternoon to Mid-Afternoon - Review morning and go paddling
-Self Rescue exercises
-Leisure paddle around sheltered coves and islands
-More on-water learning - paddling techniques, strokes, balance
-Learn about tides, weather, and wind
-Leave no trace ethics
-Debrief of day
