Full Description

From high canyon walls to narrow river gorges, take in amazing displays of color on this once-in-a-lifetime tour through some of the nations most celebrated National Parks.

This hiking tour offers an intricate look at Bryce Canyon, Zion, and the Grand Canyon National Parks. In Bryce Canyon, a quiet hiking trail through the forest suddenly gives way to a dazzling display of colorful spires, fins, and pinnacles. The powerful feeling of the scene from above gradually dissolves into wonder and awe as we descend into the hoodoos' realm, winding our way through the shadowy mazes at their feet.

While hiking the Grand Canyon, we embark upon an imperial journey from the park's elevated North Rim. From our vantage point at over 1000 feet above the South Rim and 5000 feet above the ensuing 2 billion year-old chasm, we experience the regal spirit of the canyon, hiking from aptly-named landmarks such as Cape Royal, Point Imperial and Bright Angel Point.

In the heart of Zion Canyon, a more personal, quiet grandeur emanates from the surrounding towers and soaring monoliths. Slot canyons, including the Secret Box Canyon and the Narrows, attract ardent hikers from around the world. While hiking the Narrows, we experience the power of rushing water as we walk through the Virgin River, letting the stream itself serve as our trail!

Shorter hiking options make this an easy tour that can be intensified to the individual as desired. Our Bryce and Zion support vehicles will be fueled by vegetable oil.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Red Canyon

From St. George we take a two hour van shuttle to beautiful Red Canyon State Park. Red Canyon boasts some of the most amazing red rock spires in the world – without the crowds! We do an out and back hike on the beautiful Butch Cassidy Trail out to Brayton Point. If time permits, we can take a short van ride to Tropic Reservoir where we can cool off in a beautiful mountain lake! After dinner enjoy the beautiful Sunset Cliffs. As you might guess from the name, they change colors as the night falls-- it makes for the perfect after-dinner show! Total mileage | 4 miles Camp | Red Canyon Inns | Ruby’s Inn or The Pines

Day 2: Bryce Canyon

We begin the day with a short drive to Bryce Canyon National Park. Our planned hike takes us from the rim of Bryce into a maze of fantastic hoodoos similar to those of Red Canyon. We'll descend through Fairyland Canyon to Tower Bridge then return to the Sunrise Point. We will have the opportunity to walk along the edge to Sunset point and see the magnificent Bryce Amphitheater. Our route allows us to see the many geological features that are unique to Bryce Canyon. Total Mileage | 6 miles Camp | Red Canyon Inns | Ruby’s Inn or The Pines

Day 3: Grand Canyon

We shuttle to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon today (which takes about 3 hours). After lunch, a hike takes us from the depths of the Kaibab National Forest to Saddle Mountain overlooking Point Imperial in the heart of Grand Canyon National Park! This is a spectacular back country journey where you can soak in the scenery and majesty of the Grand Canyon without the crowds. Total Mileage | 5 miles Camp | North Rim Inns | Kaibab Lodge or North Rim Lodge

Day 4: Grand Canyon

After a relaxing morning our guides will lead us on some of the most spectacular hikes in the world. Only one out of ten of the canyon’s visitors experience the tranquility of the North Rim, making it an ideal spot to explore one of the seven natural wonders of the world. There are a number of options today with many ways to explore the canyon. Your guides will tailor the hike to the trip participants. Total Mileage | 5 miles Camp | North Rim Inns | Kaibab Lodge or North Rim Lodge

Day 5: Zion Canyon

Next up is Zion Canyon. From canyon junction we catch the park shuttle to the Angel's Landing trail head. Our trail cuts into the sandstone walls as it climbs through a series of switchbacks to an awesome viewpoint overlooking the Virgin River. The final hike to the top of Angel's Landing follows along a steep, narrow trail set on the spine of a sandstone fin rising almost 1,500 feet above the canyon floor. Chains are provided to help you steady yourself as you climb this last section. Total Mileage | 5 miles Camp | Zion Canyon Inns | A local Springdale Inn

Day 6: Zion Canyon

We have one last half-day to soak up Zion’s multi-hued cliffs and massive stone monoliths. Today we venture off on Zion's trademark trail, the Zion Narrows. Walking along and through the river, we take in unparalleled views of Angels Landing and the enormous cliffs that make Zion, well, Zion! We'll dry off and have lunch before shuttling back to St. George and Las Vegas. Total Mileage | 3 miles
